Meet the Agent: Patryk Staniszewski – a native Warsaw resident, sports enthusiast, favorite advisor of many of our clients
Patryk, young and energetic, has an extraordinary gift for establishing close relationships with clients. As he says himself, his task is not only to sell or rent real estate, but above all to help people find their dream place on earth.
Though he never thought of working in real estate, he now feels like a fish in the water in his position. His clients trust him because they feel he cares about more than just profit. She is able to adapt to them with working hours, ask the right questions, accurately define the needs and find the perfect solution. Sometimes even different from the initial assumptions of the client.
Thanks to his knowledge of the real estate market, as well as the specificity of life in individual districts of Warsaw, he is able to find what people who contact us are looking for. Sometimes in a different place than they would like to look.
QUALITY: YOU LIVE IN WARSAW FROM BIRTH, WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST IN THIS CITY?
PATRYK: I believe that Warsaw has a lot to offer. Although I love to travel, every time I come back here, I have a feeling that our capital city is in no way worse than other European cities. It has changed a lot in recent years, which is appreciated not only by local patriots like me. The foreign clients I talk to often say that they are happy that they have come here.
I love the diversity of this city. The fact that everyone can find something for themselves here. Dinner with friends? In each of the districts you will find an interesting gastronomic offer. Sports afternoon? In Warsaw, there is an adequate infrastructure for practicing almost any activity. Peaceful Sunday with your family? In Łazienki Park, you can organize a picnic to the sounds of a Chopin concert. For fans of nightlife, there are also attractions in the city center.
QUALITY: WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?
I like to spend time with my friends, both at home and in the city. I also do a lot of sports – gym, basketball, squash, wakeboard – these are my passions, which I devote many hours a week to. It is in them that I enjoy myself, I give vent to my emotions, thanks to which I am a well-balanced and patient person on a daily basis. It probably also helps me at work, where peace and a cool approach to various situations are key. Sport has also taught me to constantly work on myself, the attitude that I can always do something better, and that the results do not come immediately. I know that the results can be much better thanks to the team play.
When I have more free time, I travel a lot, both locally and a little further away. I think that we all need such a detachment from time to time.
QUALITY: WHERE DOES THE IDEA FOR A CAREER IN REAL ESTATE FROM?
PATRYK: It’s a complete coincidence. Real estate has never been the industry I aspired to. I found the Lions Estate advertisement and checked the company’s Instagram out of curiosity. I saw smiling people and a lot of positive emotions there. I wanted these elements to be present in my workplace, so I applied.
QUALITY: AND HOW DID YOU FIND YOURSELF IN THIS JOB?
PATRYK: At the beginning it was not easy, because I never had any contact with this market. It took me two years to reach the point when I actually enjoy this work. Now I know that real estate, especially in the premium segment, is what I want to specialize in.
QUALITY: YOU DON’T REGRET YOUR DECISION?
PATRYK: Absolutely! It is good to work in a place that has a reputation in the industry, and at the same time with a family atmosphere. It is very encouraging when you call the property owner for the first time and after introducing yourself you hear that he is glad you called because a friend recommended our office to him.
On the other hand, we as Lions Estate are a nice team. Each of us is completely different, but we have a common goal and we can count on each other. Many friendships have been made here. Together, we travel around the world, play sports, celebrate the birth of children, weddings or birthdays of one of us.
There is no unhealthy competition among us, quite the contrary. It happens that someone sacrifices himself to make the other person succeed. It may sound idealistic, but to find out you have to become a Lion. And that’s a privilege.
QUALITY: HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WORK?
For me, working in real estate means helping people. I don’t treat my clients purely for business purposes. I always try to empathize with their situation, help them go through this often difficult process.
It seems to me that at this stage clients need not only a professional, but also a colleague with whom they will be able to talk honestly and who will show them the best options, but also will not hide their disadvantages. Sometimes I have a closer bond with my clients, I also spend time with them after work or celebrate the end of negotiations.
QUALITY: WHAT DO YOU THINK, WHAT DOES SUCCESS IN THIS INDUSTRY DEPEND ON?
PATRYK: I think that the most important thing is to understand the client’s needs and concerns. It is difficult to do this job well if you cannot put yourself in his shoes, listen and understand. It is often the case that only after a meeting and sometimes a few hours’ conversation with the person who comes to us, I am able to determine what she cares about the most.
There are no perfect properties, clients always have to compromise. It is my job to make this compromise as small as possible. So that they can buy or rent a flat or a house with a clear conscience.
QUALITY: HOW DO YOU ASSESS THE REAL ESTATE MARKET IN WARSAW?
PATRYK: The real estate market in our city, especially premium real estate, is very dynamic and developing. It can be said that Warsaw is experiencing a real investment boom. Developers are very active, providing more and more diverse and qualitative offers. In addition to flagship investments, such as Złota 44 or Cosmopolitan, more intimate investments are being made in many prestigious locations. More tenement houses are being revitalized, restoring the splendor of such streets as Mokotowska or Foksal. There really is a lot to choose from.
Real estate prices are steadily rising, exceeding record levels. This opens up opportunities for the secondary market, which is now as dynamic as the primary market. A lot is happening. It’s fun to be part of it all.
QUALITY: DO YOU HAVE YOUR FAVORITE DISTRICT IN WARSAW?
PATRYK: When it comes to my favorite districts, or rather parts of them, I would definitely point to the older part of Powiśle, i.e. the vicinity of Śniegocka or Wilanowska streets, and the old Mokotów, the vicinity of Naruszewicz / Krasicki. I am not an advocate of sterile, modern buildings. I like when modernity is intertwined with history, and this is what it is like in these places. There are also green areas there, which in my opinion is of great importance.
