Although Konstancin-Jeziorna is best known as a luxurious health resort near Warsaw famous for its exclusive villas, not so many people know that the city also has a rich history. Get to know the most popular luxury near Warsaw!

Prestigious neighborhood among greenery

It’s no secret that Konstancin-Jeziorna, due to its prestigious character, is eagerly chosen as a place of residence by the rich and famous people. A 20-30 minute journey by car and from the center of the capital, we can move to a completely different world, where old pine trees rustle over our heads and intimate streets encourage walks. It is a perfect place to commune with nature – Konstancin is surrounded by greenery from every side. On the one hand, it is adjacent to the vast Kabacki Forest, which changes its face depending on the season. Nearby, the Botanical Garden of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Powsin invites you for walks and afternoon coffee among palm trees. On the other side of Konstancin there is the Chojnów Landscape Park – the seat of several nature reserves with unique flora, birds and animals.

Rich history

The history of the settlement dates back to the 15th century, when it was first mentioned in written records. Konstancin is also associated with the saying “Do you know where Jeziorna?”, meaning in the eighteenth century the threat of “appeal to Jeziorna”, that is, a duel. In the area under the authority of the marshal of the court, duels were forbidden, its border was the Jeziorka river, so a secluded place was used (today’s Zdrojowy Park or the Grapa estate). The name of the city comes from the name of its founder – countess Konstancja Potulicka Skórzewska. Forest areas near Warsaw, located on the extension of the Royal Route with access by the Wilanów Railway, were extremely popular among the upper class. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, many impressive mansions were built here, designed by leading Polish architects in all contemporary styles: from neo-Gothic and neoclassicism, through manor-house architecture and the Zakopane style. There were also built mansions in the shape of Italian villas and Rhine castles. Fancy Art Nouveau and modernist villas were built in the area.

In the interwar period, Konstancin was advertised as a place of art and culture elites. With sewerage, running water and electricity.

It has a healing effect on the nervous system, endocrine glands and the body’s immunity. For those who want to relax, we have good information – a modern SPA complex has been built near the source – perfect for a weekend rest and a break from the hustle and bustle of the capital.

Fans of summer, romantic walks will be delighted with the viewing terraces built right by the Jeziorka River. In the evenings, they are illuminated by 200 stylish street lamps located along the walking paths, creating a unique atmosphere.

The Palace in Obory – a baroque manor house in Obory is a unique example of a Polish noble residence made of brick from the second half of the 17th century.

The “Stara Papiernia”, a historic paper factory from the end of the 18th century, is today a popular, elegant shopping center. The three-storey building houses approximately 35 premises, mainly restaurants, cafes, boutiques and service points. Periodic exhibitions of vintage cars are held in the square in front of the building. Microclimate and communing with nature
