Lycée Français de Varsovie is a private international school, which is also known as “Lycée Français de Varsovie – René Goscinny”. Its traditions date back to the times of the Second Polish Republic. Currently, the school comprises four educational institutions, located in Sadyba, where there is a kindergarten and primary school, and in Saska Kępa – there is a college, high school and school administration.

LFV operates in accordance with the French educational system, which is why children start learning between 5 and 7 years of age in elementary school, which lasts 5 years (until the end of class IV of the Polish school), then study in a 4-year college (its equivalent is Polish classes V – VIII), and only after that they can study in a general education lyceum (LO), which lasts three years.

At each stage of education, the school teaches in accordance with the French curriculum, taking into account the requirements for international schools in Poland. Students learn the content required in French schools, but they also learn Polish (as a foreign language), and Polish children – their native language and some subjects in Polish. The language of instruction at school is French.

An interesting fact is that at the stage of education in kindergarten, primary school and junior high school language can be learned almost from scratch. At the end of the fifth grade of primary school, LFV ensures that students who do not have French citizenship pass the DELF exam at level A2. In LO, the pass rate of this exam has been 100% for years.

Students at the college stage choose compulsory and additional so-called teaching cycles, i.e. groups of subjects of interest to them. This selective approach to taught content is continued in high school, where students also identify the subject blocks of interest from humanities, socio-economic or science subjects. They also choose additional subjects for final exams.
